Pre-High School Test Prep

METC'S Pre-High School Standardized Test Motivational-Prep Workshop For High School Placement Tests & Private School Entrance Exams (EX: Terra Nova, CAT, SRA, IOWA, ERB, STS, etc.)

Pre-High School Standardized Test Prep Workshop Every 8th Grade Student's MAP for Success in High School
Students need to score successfully on Pre-High School standardized tests because their performance level often influences the number of remedial and basic skills courses required in 9th grade before being permitted to take core courses essential for high school success and college prerequisites. Influences "tracking" or placement in upper and lower end core courses, including Honor Courses. Influences the level of challenges and the style of teaching offered to students throughout high school. Influences socialization and association with peer groups in and out of school. Influences acceptance or rejection by private schools for those who choose to apply.

For 8th grade students, standardized test scores take on major significance. Along with academic grades, 8th grade standardized test scores serve as important guidelines for administrators and teachers when evaluating students for "tracking", placement level, and even course selections, whether in private, parochial, or public high schools. Naturally, these test scores are also used as valuable assessment tools if your child is to be considered for acceptance into one of the private prep schools or academies.

METC'S professionally trained instructors review 5th, 6th, & 7th grade skills to prepare 8th grade students to accurately reflect their full academic potential on any standardized placement test OR on any secondary private school entrance exam. All of these tests evaluate your child's cognitive thinking skills, as well as his or her acquired skills and aptitude in many content areas, especially English and Math.

Home Schooling

We offer support services at flexible hours, by certified instructors. Our services cover anything from assisting parents on how to approach a topic, or teaching a child an entire course. We offer proctored exit testing (at a number of different subjects and hours), to pass your child/student on to the next grade level. We also offer small group learning to provide controlled environment socialization needs to home-schooled children. We recognize that certain subjects and topics lend themselves to group situations. Debates in subjects such as political science and social studies can only be achieved in a group situation. Our Home Schooling services also give the student the chance to interact with another adult mentor, besides Mom or Dad. This service also ties into our Parent Network. This is a support group for parents who are home schooling their children. It gives these parents a chance to network with other home schooling parents. These groups meet once a month. They are a great place to exchange advice and ideas.
